ecoENERGY Evaluations: Building Types and Eligiblity
As of January 28, 2012, the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program has closed registrations for new and past participants. The deadline to obtain a post-retrofit evaluation is now June 30, 2012. See Your Four Steps for details.
Note: REEP Kitchener Home Energy Grants are still available on a first-come, first-served basis for insulation and air sealing in Kitchener homes built before 1970, but they are going fast!
Eligible Building Types
We offer energy assessment services to a wide variety of customers and properties. The following building types may be eligible for the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program and the REEP Kitchener Home Energy Grants program.
- Detached and semi-detached homes
- Triplexes and duplexes
- Row houses
- Low-rise residential buildings (footprint of less than 6,500 square feet, maximum of 20 units and 3 stories; please call us for details)
- Mobile homes with a permanent foundation
Age of Building
ecoENERGY program: Homes considered to be new construction do not qualify for the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program. A house is considered new construction up to six months after the builder has transferred the house to the homeowner.
Kitchener program: Only homes built before 1970 may qualify for the REEP Kitchener Home Energy Grants.
